We all watched the Macy's Parade, played with Carson's Turtle...

Ate a lot, played football in the yard, went to see "Four Christmases" and watched "A Christmas Story" which we do every year.

Before the Dallas-Seattle game, Demi Lavato sang the National Anthem.  She pretty much overdid all the runs and trills so Allison and I were making fun of her while we did the dishes.  Susan caught us on video.

So last night I'm in bed and I wake up and my heart is doing this weird thing:

Thump, Thump, Thump....Pause...THUMP!  Thump, Thump....Pause....THUMP, Thump, Thump...Pause.

Well, that shit will get your attention, right thurr.

So I had Susan listen to it, thinking she'd say, "It sounds normal to me.  Stop worrying and go to sleep."

But she heard the same thing.   Thump, Thump, Thump....Pause...THUMP!  Thump, Thump....Pause....THUMP, Thump, Thump...Pause.

So today I went to the doctor.  He said it's very common and basically my heart thinks it beat during the pause, but since it didn't, it fills extra full with blood, and that's why the next beat is so big.  Even the doctor admitted he has it sometimes too.  But it didnt' stop them from putting those EKG things all over me and drawing blood.

Oh yeah, drawing blood.  She missed the vein in my left arm, saying it was "rolly."  So she tried on the right arm as I'm trying really hard not to pass out.

I'm sure it's all fine and I'm not worried about it.  As long as I can still go running and stuff, then I'm "good" to "quite good."

Carson wanted to play video games right after school but I was reading that kids his age really need to use their imagination.  So we busted out the Lincoln Logs.

Then we played NCAA Football on XBox.  I beat him 2-0.  Big offensive game.  One day all boys will be better at their dads at pretty much everything.  It's something all boys strive for and all dad's dread, yet hope for at the same time.

And what about this spanking thing we talked about this morning on the show?  I dont' spank my kids because my dad used to spank me and it made me afraid of him, even though I could probably count on one hand the number of times I remember him spanking me.
