Dear Diary:
I'm so crabby about my speeding ticket. I was exiting off the freeway and thought that the limit was still 55. The cop pulled me over just as I was exiting, so I was still at highway speed, and I guess the speed limit was 30. I was so pissed! This is my first speeding ticket, and I guess I'm due for one because I'm not the best at following the speed limit, but I would rather get a speeding ticket for when I KNOW I'm speeding instead of for when I think I'm following the law and am speeding by sheer accident. So I think I'm going to try to at least get the ticket reduced by going to court and explaining my side. It may not do anything, but it's worth a try and worth it if it saves me a little money. And at least I wasn't listening to my iPod when I got pulled over! That could have been bad...
Drive safely, kids.

Ouch!! That doesn't sound good!! I would advise you to go to court too, but before you do I would also advise that you go and video tape or take pictures of where the cop pulled you over. The reason for this would be to provide evidence that you had just exited and didn't know of the change in the speed limit. Also if there is not sign posted indicating a change in speed limit I would make sure to show that too. The more evidence you have the more likely you are to get the ticket waved or atleast reduced. My friend got a speeding ticket in an area he was unfamillar with, and that a tree branch was covering the speed limit sign, he filmed the sign and was able to get the ticket thrown out.
