i was pretty sick listening to that first caller go on about how ignorant and disgusting and lazy, etc. heavy people are, and i don't even have weight issues. yeah, she was being honest about her feelings but what she was saying was awfully ignorant and horribly tasteless. sure, there are some people like that - lazy and full of self-pity - but not all! there are people in GENERAL like that, regardless of their weight! but argh! i was desperately waiting for someone to call in with weight problems due to genetic issues, health problems, etc. just to prove some of the junk she said wrong.
i just read a blog from someone who was [understandably] upset about what that girl had said, and said that most skinny people are arseholes. please don't think that!! arseholes come in all shapes and sizes (heh, heh)!
hooray for those who strive to be healthy, say i! there comes a point where you can only use the 'healthy weight' guidelines as just that - guidelines. if a person is living their life and doing what they can - exercising, eating right, making good choices for their body - that doesn't mean they are going to naturally become the ideal weight or shape. I do that, and I'm disgustingly UNDER weight. There are people who do that and will still be slightly overweight (though not obese, of course) or 'heavier' than whatever is considered 'the norm' or 'healthy.' what matters most is that people are healthy, because that is one of the things that helps us enjoy our time on this earth, and make the most of it!
ok, so i have some horribad eating habits, but if i ate super healthy i'm afraid i'd lose even more weight, which i cannot afford. do i make my kid eat well? YES! do i teach him healthy habits? YES! he is naturally skinny too, but at least he'll grow up making good choices for his body. besides, i already get enough comments about being anorexic. yeah, sometimes people think others' weight is their business. it's not. no matter which way the scale swings, YOUR weight is YOUR business and THEIR weight is THEIR business. i just wish people would keep it that way. we are who we are, and we - not other people - make our choices and then live with the consequences, good or bad. maybe it's the 'minnesota nice' in me but can't we all just let each other be?
It's been quite a while since I've done anything in WoW. Since summer came 'round it's harder to want to spend any amount of time playing. Plus with all the guild stuff, it's just like...meh. Don't even want to.
BUT this weekend we made a few transfers. I finally stole Khadin (holy pally) to my account and then we ran Zul'Aman for the first time this weekend. Will went both Friday and Saturday, and I went on Saturday to heal. I am pretty pleased with myself, considering I've never been before and it's a slight step up from Karazhan. I enjoyed it though - the strats were less tedious than, say, Nightbane. I feel like I figured it out pretty quickly, and managed an 11g repair bill instead of some peoples' 30g+. We downed 4 of the bosses altogether, and I'm sure we'll be back at it next week. That said, I wouldn't mind even doing Kara. Mantecorians/CC/Blackwing are a fun bunch to raid with.
I also transferred my rogue, Azra, to Khaz'Goroth. Azra was taken, so I renamed her Céilí. Pain in the arse to mail stuff to, but I do like that word/name. It's a traditional Gaelic/Irish social dance, and there's a fun song about it. Anyway. I started playing her again. She's been doing a few dailies here and there, and I managed to farm the AH for leather to get her LW maxed at 375. Finally. She's upgraded all her embarrasing gear (GREEN bracers and a ring omg) for an epic and a blue, so my gear is at least less horribly humiliating. I farmed mats yesterday for the Primalstrike Bracers, which will get me through until something good drops. Next I need to make the Primalstrike Belt to upgrade some quest reward blue I'm still wearing. Argh! She farmed last night for Kurenai rep, since I started that ages ago, realized there were more important things out there than a talbuk and quit, and now I just have 7% left till Exalted after a pretty hefty grind last night. I'll get it tonight, and I think I'll get a Silver War Talbuk. And the tabard. Figured I might as well finish what I started!
Am I the only person in the world who insists on feeding my child and dog as much organic/natural/unaltered food as possible with no real desire to change my own eating habits?
Seriously. I try to be all eco friendly and food safe and stuff, but then I remember I drink enough Mountain Dew in one day at work to drown a small dog.
