About Me
I just graduated with college with a media communication degree.
I love sports...
I play baseball with the state champion Plato Blue Jays!
I played college football for five years as a Wide Receiver.
Play lots of fantasy football, and usually win.
I also enjoy working out and weight lifting
Well, I am still looking for a job. So, we got Monday
off for Veterans Day and I spent the entire day applying for jobs.Well, by Wednesday I had received a phone
call from KSTP 5 to schedule an interview for a part time spot, and I got an
email from ESPN about setting up a phone interview for a position at ESPN headquarters
in Bristol.
Both interviews went well, and I have been waiting to hear
back from both places.Yesterday I
received the call from KSTP saying that they had hired someone else, but I am
still waiting on the ESPN offer. If they
like me, and they should ;), they are going to fly me out to Bristol for a full day of interviews and
tours of campus.
So that has been keeping me busy over the last week or
so.I need to get something because I
can only keep my current seasonal job with the City of Eden Prairie until Friday… Too bad the Monday
Night football game is still a couple of weeks away, I’m going to need that
cash!
The TV station I work at covers Blaine athletics, which so happens to have a
pretty good volleyball team.Last year
they finished 3rd in state; however this year they lost in the first
round to Andover. This afternoon they played some team, I don’t
remember because they weren’t very good, for the chance to go to the
consolation championship.
The game
played before us was Shakopee against Lakeville North. These two teams were incredible.I usually don’t get to drawn in by
volleyball, but the skill of these two teams was tremendous.Game one of the match was the best volleyball
I’ve ever seen, unbelievable!
Anyway,
this was the first event that I had worked at in the Xcel, which meant I was
lost half of the time.It was fun, I
love doing television work, but the disturbing things I noticed was the fashion
trends of the high school freshmen guys, ok funny go ahead and joke about it,
but when you run a camera and have a bunch of people in front of you for three
to four hours you tend to glance at them at least once. I have also noticed this trend where I
volunteer… It is the trend of the emoish style, that has guys wearing dopy long
hair covering their face, which, whatever you can do what you want (whisper,
but it looks dumb, and people laugh at you), that doesn’t really bother me but
what gets me is the guys who go to the next step and wear women’s pants,
nasty.Sure, you can wear regular or
tight pants, but why women’s pants? DON’T DO IT!!
Seriously,
at the Xcel there was some Lakeville North freshman walking around me and I
almost went up to the kid and said “Hey! You’re wearing women’s pants!”I would have scared the crap out of him,
haha.I guess I missed my chance to make
the world a better place, lol…. Anyway, Shakopee ended up winning over North,
so I guess it doesn’t pay to wear chick pants, when you’re not a chick!
Oh, yeah, Bethel plays St. John's for the MIAC football title tomorrow! Go Royals!!!
Well, I had a fantastical week.Last Tuesday (I volunteer with high school
kids on Tuesday nights); my life took a radical turn. There is a girl that volunteers there also,
no I know what you’re thinking, she is not the reason I volunteer, well not the
only reason.Anyway, we went to school
together I to say I was in love with her would be an understatement. We hung out a few years ago, like three
times, and that led to the school famous “DTR”, aka determining the
relationship, I don’t know that’s just what happens at our school, I didn’t
make the rules.Well, she just “wanted
to be friends” the killer line that every man prays that he will never hear
even in his darkest nightmare.Ok, back
to the story, well, last year she started to date a guy from the U, sucks, but
deal with it. Well, jumping back to Tuesday, right before she walks in the door
our leader told us that this girl had just gotten engaged.Perfect timing, we are just about to start
the program and here comes in the “girl of my dreams” newly engaged telling
everyone the story.I was the only one
who didn’t say anything or congratulate her.Actually, I would have liked to have seen my face; I think it was sheer
white.I felt sick.
The only open chair was, of course, right next to me, which
gave me a great view of the large diamond ring on the finger, also a great
place to hear the story of how it happened.Needless to say as soon as it was appropriate I took a trip to the
bathroom, for a half an hour.I honestly
was crushed. I made it back just in time to start the program and lasted for
about twenty minutes until I had to take another break. All of the kids wondered where I had gone to
after I came back the second time, lol.I came up with something.
After we got done I left and went to my spot, which is the
place where I would go to be alone during my years at school.I just sat there for about an hour and a
half, and I texted a friend of mine. This
friend is one of my buddy’s girl friends, and we have known each other since we
where five. She, probably rightfully, called me a liar for saying that I was
over this girl.I thought I was, but she
still is the most amazing girl I’ve ever known. It still is taking time, but I have been slowly feeling better about
it.Getting away and hunting helped, I
had a lot of time to reflect and think and sleep,J.I’ll write about that next time, I almost cut
my thumb off…
That was my stellar week; it really was a blur of misery. I
kind of sound like a baby so, I’m done crying now.So, moving on in life, I will be working at
the Xcel Energy center tomorrow covering the Blaine Volleyball team with North
Metro 15, working television really gets my mind of stuff, now if I could only
get a full time spot.
i broke up with him, cuz after not talking for 2 days, i call him [with my number blocked cuz he wouldn't answer] and he hung up on me.. and didn't call back and say sorry, or anything...
No, really. It's because I respect you as much as I do that I would push you to the 10 'o clock hour. It's the only time I'm able to turn on the Telly. And you're right. I don't care enough to hear the details of your deadly injury. Sounds too gory. :P
Four whole days and I'm still the only one who's commented you?? That's just plain sick. I think you should definately consider going on strike....or slap somebody (just not me....!) or something.
And cool you should feel. =] I thought it kinda 'ignint' that people should just pass you over like that...propless...that's just no way to be, no sireee. ;]
hey hey!
